Story
To you lovely lot out there,
Did you know that 43,552 people aged 0-24 were homeless on 2016 Census night across Australia? That’s 38% of the entire homeless population in Australia; all under the age of 25. 10% of them are couch-surfing or living temporarily with other households and 3% of them are forced to live rough, on the streets.
The leading cause of youth homelessness is family separation and breakdown; meaning homelessness can happen to anyone. A child or young person you know could be homeless. Just because it’s not visible, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
I feel that all of these young people deserve our help.
That is why I am participating in the 2018 Sleep Under the Stars event and will be sleeping rough on Friday 26 October underneath the Harbour Bridge. This is to help raise $400,000 to keep 13 youth accommodated with support so they can become independent and the very best people they can be.
I encourage you to join me on the night by registering here. Just a few hours of your time can make a lifetime of difference for a child or youth.
If you cannot join me then I would so appreciate a donation. Your support can make a real difference on an Aussie kid's life. I have set myself a personal goal to raise $1,000 and I would be so grateful for your help, big or small.
Thanks so much in advance.
