Story
People don't realise how easy it is to fall into homelessness.
As someone who had to couchsurf quite a bit, I'm fully aware of how close I came to spending the night in a park.
Luckily, the worst night I ever had was catching different buses all night long when my Mum was having a particularly 'bad moment'. Without my Grandma, my dad, and my big sister, it could have been a very different story.
Now, I'm in the fortunate position to be able to choose to spend a night outside, to raise money for others.
There are over 43,000 homeless Australians under the age of 25.
I am participating in the 2018 Sleep Under the Stars event to help raise $400,000 to keep 13 youth accommodated with support so they can become independent.
Just a few hours of our time can make a lifetime of difference for a child or youth.
